Alaska Work 2014-2021 > Anthopocene

Man has manipulated the world and bent it through agriculture, mining, blooming population growth, habitat and ecological destruction. Looking at how this new “epoch”, called the Anthropocene in some circles, marks the beginning of a new age, I entertain in my work the human engagement with our planet. Mans interactions with nature fuel questions on how this new era will proceed. Relationships with the natural world within the passage of time has continuously driven my artistic practice. Time acts as a rolling script where the interactions we choose can have serious consequences. Currently, man controls the environmental and ecological outcome of the planet, because of this we need to choose what a future would look like. There are several hypothetical outcomes. We are all in this together and need to make smart choices to ensure a future whereby man, animal and nature can co-exist and prosper.
